LONGUEUIL, November 17, 2015. – 6Telecom, a leading provider of advanced business communications solutions and services, announced that it has reached an agreement to purchase the Nortel-Avaya business unit of Excel Telecom. This transaction has three important components: the acquisition of the Nortel and Avaya customer base, the hiring of key resources for these product lines and purchase of some assets.

As part of this transaction, 6Telecom has acquired the Excel Telecom clientele using a Nortel or Avaya platform. Also, key Nortel and Avaya resources from Excel Telecom are now members of the 6Telecom team. These experts will grow the ranks of the existing 6Telecom team. Also, a large inventory of replacement parts as well as service vehicles are added to the 6Telecom assets.

“With this transaction, we realized a growth opportunity as part of our strategic plan. We, at 6Telecom, strive to become the premier Avaya partner for Quebec and Canada. This is the logical progression following the Avaya Americas Midmarket Partner of the Year award we received earlier this year.”
